Nicole Del Vecchio – Marriage & Family Therapist Intern

Nicole believes that we each have the innate capacity to bring about change in our lives. She also recognizes how hard it can be to know how or where to start. As a result, she is passionate about creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard and comfortable exploring their innermost world. Nicole works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigating addictions, grief and loss, career and life transitions, anxiety, and depression. She also incorporates expressive arts and mindfulness-based techniques into her practice, as we do not always have the language to articulate our feelings. Nicole is currently completing her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Mercer University and is working under Marilyn Witbeck’s supervision.

THERAPY SPECIALITIES

Couples Therapy

The right time to come to couples counseling is – when you decide you want to improve your relationship. In couples therapy, the relationship is the client. The therapist consults with the couple to define the problems they want to address and identify desired treatment outcomes. The therapist will ask each partner about their history with and  without the other partner in the room.

Pre-Marital Counseling

As your intimacy deepens, conflicts will arise. Deciding early in the relationship what your shared values are and how to respect differences can keep you from spending years in harmful patterns.

Anxiety & Depression

Although anxiety and depression are two distinct mental health conditions, they often coexist and share some common features. These symptoms can overlap, and individuals may experience both anxiety and depression simultaneously.
