Ben Griswold – Therapist / LMSW

Ben believes that every person has infinite worth and value. Sometimes, we simply need a little help recognizing that worth and developing the tools necessary to live the kind of life we want. He strives to create a welcoming, collaborative, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to make meaningful changes. He works with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, addiction, and other life challenges. Using a strengths-based perspective, Ben incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and person-centered approaches to help clients better understand themselves, build on their strengths, develop effective coping skills, and work toward their goals. He strives to meet each person where they are in their unique life journey, recognizing that there is no single path to growth and healing.

Therapy Specialities

Family Therapy

For each family member at-risk, there is a larger family system in place. If the individual is treated while the family is not, the cycle of dysfunction may continue. Many concerns can be addressed through family therapy, including grief & loss, life adjustments, behavioral or school issues, conflict resolution, communication, and mental and physical illness.

Sex Addiction

The recovery process involves exploring your behaviors and what’s at the root of your emotional pain. In therapy, you’ll be accountable for your behaviors as you learn to identify, regulate, and express your emotions while beginning to establish sobriety from problematic sexual behaviors.

Teen counseling

Teens who may be experiencing maladaptive, unsafe and unhealthy coping, patterns of unstable relationships, impulsive and possibly risky behaviors, and emotional upheaval will benefit from this group by developing mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness skills.
